My counsin Josh came to visit us in Boston and he really wanted to see a
Boston Red Sox game. I was able to get 4 standing tickets to go see the game at
Fenway Park, which has been home to the Red Sox since its opening in 1912. It was about 100 degrees today but that didn't deter us from going to see the Red Sox. They played the Baltimore Orioles and, while they lost, we all had a great time. Josh was already sight seeing in Boston and the kids and I met him outside of Fenway Park. It was a great night for all of us. We captured all the exciting moments on camera to preserve the memories made. Go Red Sox!!!

We were on the way to drive to watch the game when I decided we should take the T (Boston's subway) in rather than deal with traffic, ugly gas prices, and $40 parking. Logan and Emy were so excited as they didn't remember ever riding a subway. Here they stand on the platform waiting for the subway to arrive.

Here comes the subway red line. It's only a short 20-30 min ride to downtown Boston.

We switched subways from the red line to the green line to make it close to Fenway park.
This picture was taken while we were approaching our entrance gate at Fenway Park.

Here is cousin Josh, Logan and Emy as we made our way to find seats behind home plate.

Here is a great shot taken just behind home plate. These were the first seats we claimed before the actual ticket holders arrived. We bought standing room seats but they allow you to find other seats if people don't show up for the game. You can also see "
The Green Monster" the seats in the upper left corner of the photo (in left field). These seats are hard to get as very desirable and you frequently get the opportunity to catch home run baseballs.
This was taken where we finally found seats. Besides the annoying pole, these were great seats.
Views taken of right field. You can see the Prudential Center (Boston's highest building) in the background. It's really neat having Fenway Park right in the middle of Boston.
During the 7th inning stretch, the entire crowd sang "Take me out to the ball game". Logan and Emy enjoyed it.
Another picture taken from our seats.
It was a hot, hot day. It got all the way up to 100 degrees. As you can see, Logan and Emy were sweating while watching the game. We brought plenty of water and nobody complained. Afterall, we were watching the Boston Red Sox...what is there to complain about?
It is a Boston Red Sox home game tradition to sing Sweet Caroline during the 8th inning. This was the kids 3rd Red Sox game since we've lived in Boston and they were anxiously awaiting this sing along.

A final picture we took before the game ended. Unfortunately, the Red Sox lost 10-6.

Once we got outside the park, Logan & Emy wanted to buy a souvenir to remember the day. They've become quite the Red Sox fans.

This was taken on our way to the T station to go home. Logan and Emy are showing their baseball souvenirs that they bought. Logan's was red and blue and Emy's was pink and said "I heart the Red Sox." Logan also bought Manny Ramirez/Coco Crisp sunglasses that he is sporting here (famous current Red Sox players). The sign in the background is the famous Citgo sign that marks the location of Fenway Park. It's a famous Boston landmark.

The final picture of the night taken of Josh, Emy and Logan on the subway red line as we headed back home to Hingham, MA. What a night to remember.

What a fun night! I am jealous of the heat you're having there - we haven't even hit 70 for about three weeks now. It stinks to be wearing hoodies every day when it's JUNE!
