Here are the kids standing in front of this open "New England" field. The farmer in me just can't stop wishing I had a nice piece of land like this with some horses, sheep, pigs, chickens and one cow.

Next on our walk we passed by this beautiful maple tree that is "on it's last limb". The tree must be hundreds of years old. It looks plenty gnarly and just plain cool.

Just down the road we came to Fulling Mill Pond. Our little cul de sac is called Fulling Mill Lane...after the pond. The name comes from an actual Fulling Mill that was used here in the making of woolen clothing. The homes you see in the distance are just across the street from us. Fulling Mill Lane runs just along the West side of the Pond. This picture was taken on the North East Corner of the pond.
The kids love Fulling Mill Pond. There are easements all along our neighborhood that grant everyone access to the pond. Many people go frog hunting in the summer and ice skating in the winter. It's a beautiful pond. Last year there were swans in this pond but this year it seems they've moved to another location.
Finally a shot of the kids with Heather. This was the final stop on our walk...we turned around and went back home. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed appreciating God's creations.

I loved the pictures showing the area around you. What a beautiful spot you live in!
So...what was so interesting to all the boys in the last picture??
It must've been a car...there wasn't anything exciting that I was aware of ..or it could've been a dragon fly. Boys will be boys..and of course..Emy always poses when a camera is around. :-)
Just amazing! Don't you just love Sunday's like this?
Emy does know how to be charming for a camera, that is for sure.
Hey, it's Erin (Beckstead)! I was excited to read your comment on my blog and to check yours out! You have a beautiful family! What a great place you live in - I went to Boston once after high school and loved it! (In fact, I had grand dreams for a week afterwards that maybe I WAS smart and rich enough to go to Harvard...)
We are living on the opposite coast. We live in Ferndale, Washington - 80 miles north of Seattle and 30 miles south of Vancouver, BC. We are also very close to the ocean and we love it enough to put up with all the rain!
Wow, hearing from you brought back some very old memories - songs from "Oklahoma" started running through my head, along with visions of eating pizza on top of a grain silo! It was great to hear from you. I'll be checking in to see what you guys are up to!
Keep in touch!
Erin
