One's Trash is another's Treasure???

We found these bar stools at the Hingham Swap Shop. The Swap Shop will be a post of its own, but to make a long story short, the swap shop is at the town transfer station, otherwise known as the town dump. Residents of the town can go and leave anything they want to get rid of that could be used by someone else. You simply go and leave something and get your pick of anything you want that others have left...and best of all...everything is completely free. Among many other things (post will be forthcoming) I found four of these bar stools in excellent condition. They are less wide than a typical barstool which is perfect for the bar space we have. We think they may be from the 1950's or 1960's...but they are extremely well made.
To my shock, Heather went out last Friday and bought black vinyl fabric to recover all the barstools. Normally we get things at garage sales with plans of grandeur to refinish, recover, etc. etc....but years go by and we still have the same dirtly old worn out whatever it may be. As far as the barstools are concerned, both Heather and I are happy with the results. The new covers really make a difference and we now have 4 new barstools for the price of $12. So what do y'all think? Treasure???...or still Trash??? ;-)

You really are determined to keep this blog up to date. Impressive. =) I definitely like the recovered stools better; Heather did a great job. We bought two stools at a garage sale yesterday so we would have four not two (you got the better price!) Two stools certainly is not appreciated when you have three children, we have learned. Four is much better.
